Sometimes you’re hot
sometimes cold, and I’ve
behaved like a fool
second guessing if I’ll
need a sweater around you.
You’ll catch a cold, you know.
Ice, that’s what you’ve left of my soul.
Your Hyde side, your Jekyll side,
they’ll cause a tornado when they collide.
A whirlwind, makes my emotions swing
Never knowing if your words
are gonna soothe or sting, and how.
This yo yo ride is exhausting;
I'm just gonna get off now.

I especially liked the lines that play with the hot-cold metaphor and then swing it into the literalness of the sweater -- nicely done!
ReplyDeletehaha what a fun piece, loved the wordplay and not sure I have a Hyde and Jekyll side, but I'm a fool that's for sure..haha

ReplyDeleteYeah, been there--bailed.But that contrast of extremes can be so intense, you get hooked to the high and try to ignore the low--great analogy with the tornado.
