Regret

The rain pours down
beneath the moon
where she stands;
evanescence
of her soul like,
like a breath
inside a whisper…
echoes of her still
torched memories,
words she left un
spoken…can’t
be traded, or
even buried,
or forgot…
Arms outstretched pleading
Pleading for one more chance…

  1. Yet we must move on. Love the line "like a breath inside a whisper". I feel its softness.

  8. The words have a tender nostalgic feeling. The emotion is evident, filled with regret and longing. We've all felt this way. Well done.

  9. Lovely take on this image. This week I was very interested to see the different ways we have all used to express the powerful gesture of her arms and hands. You have crafted your words well!

  11. Evanescence is a new word for me, thank you. What you write about however, is not.

  12. Hi Caty! You are an Enigma! Beautiful poem! So matches the image... But I just saw that image on another blog... Is there a prompt for it? It does look like she is pleading with every bit of passion locked away inside of her......
